Dedicated to providing compassionate and knowledgeable care to young hearts, St. Gianna Children's Hospital has been serving the community for 125 years. Established upon the values of compassion and quality by St. Gianna Beretta Molla.
Italian-born and raised Roman Catholic pediatrician Gianna Beretta Molla exemplified unwavering faith and selflessness. Despite the risks, she courageously declined a hysterectomy and pregnancy termination during her fourth pregnancy. Sadly, Gianna died a week after safely delivering her daughter. The Roman Catholic Church declared Gianna to be a saint on May 16, 2004, in recognition of her great sacrifice and dedication. Honored as the patron saint of expectant mothers, physicians, and caregivers, Saint Gianna Beretta Molla has inspired countless people with her bravery and kindness.
